Parasamgate…..

“Not till your thoughts cease all their branching here and there, not till you abandon all thoughts of seeking for something, not till your mind is motionless as wood or stone, will you be on the right road to the Gate.”

– Huang Po

***********************

“Not till”……connotes a necessary condition, currently absent and thus which is to occur in future time.

Time is thought.

Ceasing of thought…..that thought has ceased…

…is thought of such suppositions.

The very quest to end thought…

…..is the very perpetuation of thought.

If the abandonment of seeking is the necessary condition…

…… then abandoning of seeking becomes the new seeking.

Just like the ascribed meaning of motion…infers a mind for which the meaning is meaningful….

…..the absence of motion, i.e. motionless mind…

..infers the same mind.

The Gate is the very hearth, where all right roads and all wrong roads have ended.

The hearth, where all notions of right and wrong have been laid to rest.

The Gate-less Gate…….Parasamgate..

…where within and beyond have met….

…. embraced…..

….. and erased each other.
