“The so called meditation techniques are New Age spiritual fad.”

Well, the original hipster…..Shiva started the gig few thousand of years back(or maybe few million years before the dinosaurs)….. with his horsing around with Parvati(Sati)……which came to be known as the 112 techniques of the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra.

The current jokers, needed to embellish those 112 moves……to get the TRP(s) up.

And of course lay a claim on the embellished clones.

~~~~
“The people are so much after this as if this is panacea for their all problems. But because of heard/crowd mentality they hardly give a thought over what actually meditation is and the result is that whether they get any benefit or not the techniques supplier called Masters, gurus, teachers, etc are definitely getting fatter so far as material wealth is concerned.”
~~~

Yes.

A neat business model.

Create the sense of lack, prey on that and then supply the placebos.

The techniques which have been spin-doctored to be called meditation techniques……are indeed very useful for ailments in the realm of the physical, the mental and the emotional.

But the issue which is in time and thus what thought has created(along with the tools which has been created by thought to address its own creativity)…

….its apparent resolution…..is also in time/thought.

An “out” of the cul-de-sac of thought

(which is not the thought of the thoughtless/timeless)….

…is not a produced effect of a causal process in time/in thought.

~~~
“If you can meet the source of your inner life, everything is meditation. Life itself is meditating as it reaches you, with all its joys and blues”
~~~

With an “if”……..time has entered, conditionality has bee postulated….

….an entity which has not-yet-met-the-condition-but-can-in-some-future-time/space…..is posited……..

…..and its the same round and round the mulberry bush…… of thought.

“Meditation techniques” do help bring about centered-ness, smoothness of breathing which then quietens thought…….they help to address physical, mental and emotional issues, traumas etc etc.

However Meditation is not the techniques.

Meditation is the understanding of the division brought about by thought.

Thought which has created the sense of me, …..which is a a sense of amalgamation…….of my world of relationships…

“my world”…. out of which is born my hopes, desires, expectations, my successes, my failures, my knowledge, my love(s), my hates(s), my anger, my despair, my fears.

Meditation is…….. the sitting without yourself.

Meditation is to see…….that this division of me and not-me..
.
….is the very issue(no matter what is the content of the issue)

The seeing of this division which thought has brought about…

…is the very “out” of the division.

This state of “out”…….is the meditative space……..that one is…

….whether one is cutting vegetables, addressing issues with an abusive spouse, or dealing with the plethora of issues which defines life.

In this state of “out”……..one is perfectly free to engage in a specific meditation technique……or not to engage.

One has no issue to be in prayer…….for no longer one is praying for something to someone.

One is in Sajda……as the very being in the “out”.

Thought has always a horizon.

The state of “out” has no horizon.

Thought cannot go from the limited to the immense, nor can it transform the limited into the limitless.

For what is held to be the Immense……..the limitless…

….is a connotation, that thought has created and thus the immensity is bordered…….the limitless is really limited.

The state of “out” is a spaciousness which is not a thought of spaciousness.

Thought is the center round which there is the space of idea, and this space can be expanded by further ideas.

But such expansion through stimulation in any form is not the spaciousness in which there is no center.

The “state of out” is the seeing and understanding this thought-center(one is still in life and thus one has to deal with the issues of life)….

….but one is no longer identified with such a thought-created center.

The state of “out” is a silence and which remains un-affected…

…..by the cacophony of any of the unfolding actions/consequences..

..whatsoever they be.

The immensity of silence is the immensity of this -un-affectedness.

Which is not time bound, situation bound, condition bound……or technique bound.

Meditation is not a search, it’s not a seeking, a probing.

It’s not the taming of the brain to conform nor is it a self-introspective analysis, it is certainly not the training in concentration which is all about choosing and denying.

An emptying……….of all that thought has created as the past….
….and is creating as the future…right now.

Incidentally it’s out of this emptying………..that love erupts.

What thought typically creates and believes in as Love…..is just a quest for a bargain.

The term ” meditation” means measure.

The whole question of becoming which is to measure…….i.e. I am this, I want to be that. I am greedy, but I will gradually become non-greedy, which is a form of measurement, which is form of becoming.

Both becoming in the affairs of the world and psychologically becoming.

Measurement means comparison, to compare ‘what is’, ‘what should be’, the ideal, the fact, the fact becoming the ideal.

To see that………….. all becomings………all measurings…

…..is the very limitation of the horizon……..no matter how beautiful….. how profound, how expansive…..that horizon.

That seeing(to use a term)……………is that meditative space of “out”.

A spaciousness state of “out”…….which has no *in* and thus no *out*.
